A Barcelona-City duel
The quarterfinal draw continues with Barcelona taking on Manchester City.
Huge possible shock between Lyon and PSG
PSG (or Prague) will face OL after a potential Franco-French shock.
The first poster of the quarters is known
It will be Bayern Munich against FC Rosengard.
Big shocks in perspective
No seed, no restriction between countries.
And as expected Nadine Kessler enters the scene. Voted best player on the planet in 2014, the German begins the draw with a reminder of the new impetus taken in recent years by women’s football.
“We are aiming for nothing more than competitive women’s football,” explains the boss of women’s football at UEFA.
Meeting at 12 p.m.
Just a few more minutes of patience, it will begin soon.
Nadine Kessler alone on stage for the draw
Unless surprised, the boss of women’s football at UEFA should conduct the draw alone because of health restrictions linked to the coronavirus. As had already been the case in the previous round, the former German international Nadine Kessler should therefore manage everything from Nyon.
The schedule for the end of the Women’s Champions League
After the draw scheduled for Friday noon, the clubs will know their entire route until the final scheduled for May 16 in Goteborg, Sweden.
The quarter-finals are scheduled for March 23 and 24 for the first leg matches and March 31 and April 1 for the second leg. Then will come the semi-finals (April 24-25 and May 1-2).
Watch the qualification of the Lyonnaises on video
Already victorious in the first leg at home, the OL players did it again this week in Denmark against Brondby (1-3). The inequality of the course of the Lyonnaises is to be followed exclusively on RMC Sport.
Qualifiers for the quarter-finals
The draw for the quarter and semi-finals of the Women’s Champions League will start at 12 p.m. live from the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland:
Bayern Munich (GER)
Lyon (FRA, reigning champions)
Manchester City (ENG)
PSG or Sparta Prague
Good morning all
From 12 noon, follow the draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Champions League live. Holders of the title, the OL players remain among the favorites but face great adversity this season with Bayern Munich, Barça or even Chelsea, Wolfsburg and Manchester City.
Victorious in the round of 16 first leg (5-0), the Parisiennes have yet to play their return match against Sparta Prague but seem well on their way to join Les Fenottes among the European top 8.
