No tweezers to attack Apple. First boss of Netflix, which he once helped launch, Marc Randolph cut Apple TV + to pieces in an interview with Yahoo Finance. He believes that Apple does not go to enough trouble to renew the content.
A real war for content
A real “ mystery “ for him, especially since society would “No excuse” given its resources, which are considerable given its market capitalization. This lack of effort would result in the service having the highest churn rate of any streaming service available. “You have to give people a reason to stay”, he tackled.
He also criticized the fact that many Apple users still do not pay for the Apple TV + streaming service. This free access has already been renewed twice for those who initially registered in 2019.
Conversely, he believes that Disney + has “Beaten to achieve a really strong position” with its constantly updated list of new content. “It’s really a war over who’s ready to create the content”, he concluded.
Disney + just announced today that it has reached 95 million subscribers. So he left to eventually equal Netflix and its 200 million subscribers. Apple has never communicated the number of Apple TV + subscribers.
