The Shiromani Akali Dal has targeted the BJP over the incident of using force on farmers going from Punjab to Delhi via Haryana. The Akali Dal has compared this action to the 2006 Mumbai attack. The Akali Dal has said that this incident is like 26/11 of Punjab. At the same time, Akali leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who was a minister in PM Narendra Modi’s government, described the Haryana government’s action as a murder of democracy.
Opposing the action taken on farmers, Sukhbir Singh Badal said in his tweet, ‘Today is 26/11 of Punjab. We are witnessing the end of the right to democratically demonstrate. The Akali Dal opposes this attempt by the Haryana and Central Government to suppress the peaceful demonstration of the farmers. In another tweet, the Akali Dal leader said that the performance of farmers in Punjab will not be suppressed using water canon. This will strengthen our resolve.

Harsimrat Kaur, who resigned from the post of Union minister in protest against the Farmers Bill, said, ‘It is like killing democracy on Constitution Day. An attempt was made to suppress the voice of the peasants and water canon was used against the feeders. I appeal to PM Modi to direct Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar to make the farmers easily aware of Delhi. We are all with these farmers.

Capt Amarinder Singh said in his tweet that for two months, peaceful demonstration of farmers was going on in Punjab in a peaceful manner.
