In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016, Virat Kohli was in tremendous form. Kohli, the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team, was creating new records in almost every match this season. And on this day he, along with his batting partner AB Devilliers, had doubled the problem for the Gujarat Lions.
There was a different level of batting at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Both batsmen scored centuries and the Gujarat Lions team had no response to the blazing pair.
His team had bowlers like Praveen Kumar, Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja but no one had the means to stop this aggressive batting. Both were batting and the small boundary of the stadium was helping them.
AB de Villiers scored 129 runs off just 52 balls. In his innings, he hit 12 sixes and 10 fours. At the same time, Virat scored 109 runs on 55 balls with the help of five fours and 8 sixes.
The record for the second wicket between the two partners was 229 runs. When the Gujarat Lions won the toss and decided to bowl first, the Kohli-AB duo left no stone unturned to prove it wrong.
Bangalore scored 248 and the Lions were all out at just 104.
This was Virat’s third century in the IPL. He scored four centuries this season and scored 973 runs at an average of 81.08.
Also mention here that both Kohli and Virat have auctioned their match kit to fund the fight against the corona virus.
