The United States continues to include new vehicles in its military, the latest being the ISV. This new vehicle, of which one unit has already been purchased and hundreds approved for purchase, is a new design based on the General Motors Chevy Colorado ZR2. This all-rounder will be integrated into infantry squads to move quickly through battlefields.
Its most obvious characteristic, apart from speed and performance, is that it has no shielding. It has not yet been tested in war or combat zones, but it remains to be seen if this is not a major disadvantage.
Although the vehicle is fast and robust, being open on all sides without any protection for its occupants can be very dangerous.
We do not know how it will be used, if it is to transport the troops to the front it may be very useful. Currently, the different armies of the planet usually use this class of cars, but they are armored and have extra protection against thick calibers and mines. We will have to see how it works. The United States has placed an order for about 650 of them.
