We were impatiently waiting to know what kind of product would offer Nothing, Carl Pei’s new high-tech company. In an interview with Bloomberg, the founder of OnePlus put an end to the suspense by announcing that they will be wireless headphones and that they will be available later this summer.
Carl Pei also added that his company would design smart devices (smart devices) which will be available later this year. He did not give more details on these devices, but indicated that he intended to create a real ecosystem of connected objects.
“We’ll start with simpler products, wireless headphones. We’re going to have multiple products throughout the year, not just audio products, and ultimately we want to build them so that these devices communicate with each other. “
We do not yet know the characteristics of Nothing’s headphones, nor how they will stand out from other models in a very competitive market where Apple takes the lion’s share with its AirPods.
During the interview, Car Pei mentioned that his London-based company Nothing was funded to the tune of $ 15 million by the GV unit (Google Ventures) of Alphabet, the parent company of Google. For Tom Hulme of the GV unit: “ We are confident that with Carl’s global mindset, the Nothing team will have a significant impact on the consumer tech market.. “
The investors also include Kevin Lin, the co-founder of Twitch, Steve Huffman, the co-founder of Reddit and Tony Fadell, the creator of the iPod at Apple.
