INFO RMC SPORT. Toulouse left pillar Clément Castets will wear the Stade Français colors for the next four seasons.
Stade Français has finally found the gem. In search of a high-level left pillar for many months, the Parisian club has activated several tracks. For now, Paris has recruited South African Dylan Smith to complete the season as a medical joker. Last Saturday, it was the young Moses Alo-Emile who started in the home defeat against Clermont (27-34), before Vasil Kakovin replaced him. But then ?
In recent weeks, concrete interest has focused on Toulouse’s Clément Castets, under contract until 2022, as recently indicated by L’Equipe. His profile appeals to Parisian staff and managers. The latter got in touch with their Toulouse counterparts and obtained permission to discuss with the player thanks to the good relations between Thomas Lombard, the general manager of the Stade Français, and Didier Lacroix, president of the Stade Toulousain.
A four-year contract for Castets
According to information from RMC Sport, the case has progressed significantly in recent days and an agreement has been finalized between the different parties. Clément Castets will commit for four years with the club of the capital. “Targeted and ambitious recruitment is underway for next season: formalizations will take place quickly”, indicated the Stade Français in the press release formalizing the future departure of Gaël Fickou from Racing 92. The Parisian leaders have therefore kept their promises with this reinforcement of size.
Aligned ten times since the start of the season in the Top 14, including six as a holder, Castets, who came into play during the defeat against Montpellier last Saturday, is facing competition from Rodrigue Neti and especially Cyril Baille at the Rouge et Noir. In Paris, he should settle in the skin of the holder.
In addition, as indicated by Actu Pro D2 this week, the right pillar of Nevers Nemo Roelofse (25) has also given his agreement at the Stade Français, also looking for a reinforcement in the center to compensate for the departure of Gaël Fickou .
