Sport facing the coronavirus live: a positive Manchester player on his return from selection

Tottenham: Aurier and Alderweireld absent due to late tests

José Mourinho explained why Serge Aurier and Toby Alderweireld had not participated in the Premier League meeting between Newcastle and Tottenham this Sunday (2-2). Without being sick, the Ivorian side and the Belgian central simply could not reveal the results of their screening test in time.

Returning from the international break in midweek, the two defenders could not integrate the Spurs bubble and therefore train before Saturday. José Mourinho, however, confirmed that both players are in good shape.

Manchester United: Bailly tested positive and in isolation

Absent during Manchester United’s victory against Brighton this Sunday (2-1), Eric Bailly tested positive for the coronavirus.

Red Devils coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the news and clarified that the defender’s medical results came during the international break where he played a game with Ivory Coast.

Good morning all,

Two days before the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League between Bayern and PSG, tension is mounting and the players hope not to be tested postive before this great meeting. In Ligue 1, the LFP responded to Christophe Galtier after the coach’s questions about the Covid protocol of the body on the sidelines of PSG-Lille. Doubt also hangs over a potential postponement of Roland Garros after the statements of Roxana Maracineanu.
