Japan: a poll in favor of the cancellation of the Olympics at 59%
A survey carried out from May 7 to 9 among the general Japanese public reveals 59% of opponents to the holding of the Olympic Games this summer in Tokyo. As the British newspaper The Guardian points out, this percentage of Japanese calling for the cancellation of the Olympics is cause for concern about three months before the event from July 23 to August 11) even if this questionnaire was initiated by the local newspaper conservatively inclined Yomiuri Shimbun.
Conversely, 39% of those polled are in favor of holding the Tokyo Olympics despite the state of health emergency declared in the Japanese capital and its region. With a view to maintaining the Games, the option validated by the IOC and the authorities for the moment, 23% of respondents want them to be organized behind closed doors.
Good morning all,
Scheduled for Istanbul on May 29, the Champions League final is already the subject of negotiations for a relocation to Wembley. The presence of two English clubs in the final, Chelsea and Manchester City, and the health crisis could prompt UEFA to accept the request of the English authorities. In France, it is rather the Champions Cup final between La Rochelle and Toulouse but scheduled for Twickenham that makes people talk.
