One of the areas where the opportunity to generate excitement and anticipation is never lost is when it comes to processors for smart mobile devices. And in that field, the Snapdragon 875 has everything to steal a lot of reflectors.
We saw recently how a benchmark of Huawei’s Kirin 9000 put that late component in a straight fight with the top of the Qualcomm dynasty.
And now comes a juicy report from China, where apparently a lot of technical details about the processor have been leaked.
There is practically a whole month left for Qualcomm to officially present its new Snapdragon 875 in detail in detail.
However, from Weibo, the same from the Huawei Kirin benchmark, we get a lot of information about the component.
In theory that individual had access to a prototype of the Snapdragon 875 and shared some unique details about its qualities.
As we all know the component is built on the 5nm chip process but it is claimed that it would have in its guts a powerful Cortex-X1 core running 2.84 GHz.
In addition, there would be three other Cortex-A78 cores at 2.42 GHz, complementing a fourth that would be Cortex-A55 running at 1.8 GHz.
In theory that X1 would achieve a performance between 20% and 30% better than the A78. And if you add its Adreno 660 GPU to that, the Snapdragon 875 would be a real beast.
It all sounds like consistent information and there is not much reason to doubt that the processor will have all this. But it will be necessary to wait to confirm everything.
