Australian run-machine Steve Smith has challenged the Indian fast bowlers for the upcoming Test series. Smith said that he has faced this a lot in his cricketing career. The former captain said that trying to bowl short pitches against him could work in Australia’s favor.

He said, ‘I have faced a lot of short pitch bowling in my life and never had much stress about it. I think we’ll just wait and see. ‘ Smith was dismissed by left-arm fast bowler Neil Wagoner four times in the 2019–2020 season against New Zealand, as the Kiwi bowler continued to attack the star batsman with short-pitch bowling.

Smith admitted that Wagoner did it well, but others could not repeat it. India and Australia are scheduled to play a series of three ODIs, three T20s and four Tests which will start from November 27. The ODI and T20 series will be played from November 27 to December 8 in Sydney and Canberra. The much-awaited Test series will begin on 17 December with a day-night test in Adelaide.
Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammed Shami will play the lead roles in the Indian attack. If Ishant Sharma recovers from injury, he can be called for the Test series. Umesh Yadav and promising Navdeep Saini are also part of India’s Test team. Smith was not part of the previous series between the two teams as he was serving a one-year suspension for his involvement in the ball tampering case.
