If you own a Roomba i7 or s9 robot vacuum and have just updated it, you might get a nasty surprise. Indeed, users complained that the machine got out of control and acted as if it was “drunk”.
@iRobot what’s up with the 3.12.8 release? My tickets were closed and I wasn’t rolled back. These robots looks drunk since the update. Mounting complaints in the forums continue. Some folks who were rolled back got rolled forward and the issues came back. HELP!

Among the symptoms observed, vacuum cleaners start to spin around, bump against furniture, start diagonally from their charging station and zigzag anyhow. You can see on Reddit an example of a mad machine trying to get back to its base.
According to users, the problem happened with the upgrade to firmware 3.12.8. The machines then reverted to firmware 3.10.8, but the malfunctions did not disappear either. However, messages on the forums indicate that not all bots are necessarily impacted.
