Sehwag told Cricbuzz, ‘During my playing days, when Srikanth was the Chief Selector, if a player got injured on the day of selection, he was not picked but it is a long tour. Rohit Sharma is an important player, so if he has not been selected keeping in mind his injury situation today, I think it is a bit difficult for him.
Asked about whether Mumbai Indians should issue a statement, Sehwag said that Rohit’s injury needs more clarity on the nature.
Sehwag, who has scored more than 17 thousand runs in his international career, said, ‘I have no information about the condition of Rohit Sharma’s injury. The media should ask this question. It was told earlier that he is unwell, if he is unwell then what is he doing inside the stadium. He was seen during both matches. If he is injured, he should be at bed rest to recover as soon as possible. So, clearly he is not unwell. ‘
He said, ‘Mumbai Indians had shared a video which clearly showed that Rohit is working hard to achieve fitness but a statement is needed. Well these days you don’t even need a statement, he has social media where he can write a line about his situation. ‘
