Reliance Jio will soon launch 4G smartphones under 8000 rupees

Reliance Jio is preparing to migrate its 4G feature phone users to smartphones. Apart from this, the company also wants to attract 2G users of companies like Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel. According to an Economic Times report, the telecom company will soon launch Jio exclusive smartphones in partnership with Vivo, a smartphone manufacturer in the country. Along with its smartphones, the company will also offer offers like OTT platform free axes, discounts, one-time screen replacement, shopping benefits.

The report also said that Reliance Jio is also in talks with local manufacturers such as Karbonn, Lava and some Chinese brands. In the report, quoting people associated with this matter, ET has told that the company aims to bring smartphones at a price of Rs 8,000 or less.

Earlier there were reports that Jio has partnered with iTel. Jio, along with the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, will launch smartphones between 3 thousand to 4 thousand rupees in the country. These handsets have not yet been launched in the Indian market. Jio is also working with Flex for its JioPhone series and now the company plans to launch low-cost 4G devices in partnership with Google.

According to analysts, the latest move by Jio will help the company to increase gross subscribers. There are more than 350 million feature phone users in the country and the number is huge. This is why Jio has a big chance to increase subscribers by launching low-cost smartphones.

Reports have also revealed that Bharti Airtel is also in talks with smartphone vendors such as Lava, Vivo and Karbonn to bring low-cost 4G smartphones. It will be known in the coming times that which company wins this new war in the telecom industry.
