Real: Ferland Mendy leaving because of his contractual situation?

According to Catalan daily Sport, Ferland Mendy is in dispute with Real Madrid management over his contractual situation. So much so that the club would consider selling its left side.

What if Ferland Mendy leaves Real Madrid? Holder of the left-back position with the Merengue after having dislodged Marcelo, the French left side would be close to the exit, according to Sport information. The Catalan sports daily claims that Mendy is unhappy with his salary situation at the Madrid club. A disagreement that could lead to the departure of Mendy.

According to Sport, the Frenchman would receive 4.5 million euros net annually, including the 10% reduction in salaries that the players agreed to concede due to Real’s complicated financial situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Emoluments that Mendy would consider too low compared to his new status of indisputable holder.

Mendy would have sent a request for renewal of contract

According to Sport, the French left-back would have sent a contract renewal request to his management, with an increase in the key, while he is linked until 2025 with Real Madrid. In disagreement, the Madrid club would rather consider placing Mendy on the transfer list, in order to recover a sum more or less similar to that invested in 2019 to recruit him (48 million euros).

After Zinédine Zidane, who resigned from his coaching position, after Sergio Ramos, free party and recruited by Paris Saint-Germain, and after Raphaël Varane, who would agree to join Manchester United, Real Madrid could therefore lose an important new member of the club.
