There is news to the Anganwadi workers who work for the empowerment of women and children. The news is that Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wrote a letter to Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani (Smriti Irani) urging him to increase the honorarium of Anganwadi workers, helpers and mini Anganwadi workers. Gehlot has written in his letter that respectable living should be ensured to the 1,12,236 honorarium workers working in the state.
Provide 60 percent central government – Gehlot
In his letter, Gehlot has informed that in addition to the amount of about Rs 270 crore received from the central government in the year 2020-21, the state government has made a provision of about Rs 539 crore from its resources. He says that there is a difference in the honorarium amount given by both the Center and the states. Therefore, 60 percent of the additional amount being provided by the state government for honorarium workers should be made available to the states from the central government level.
Gehlot said that honorarium was low in view of work and obligations
CM Gehlot says that the central government is giving a monthly honorarium of Rs 4500 for the Anganwadi worker working under the Women and Child Development Department, Rs 3500 for the mini Anganwadi worker, Rs 2250 for the assistants. But given their functions and responsibilities, this honorarium is less for earning. Therefore, in lieu of this honorarium by the state government, Rs 7500 is being given to Anganwadi worker, Rs 5750 to Mini Anganwadi worker and Rs 4250 to Anganwadi helpers as monthly honorarium. Therefore, proper arrangements should be made in this regard from both the state and the center.
