While PSG received Manchester City this Wednesday evening in the semi-final first leg of the Champions League (on RMC Sport 1), Marquinhos opened the scoring quarter of an hour of play with the head, on a corner from Di Maria.
He hadn’t played since the quarter-final first leg against Bayern on April 7 and wasn’t sure he could make his comeback just a few days ago. And yet, it was Marquinhos, as an exemplary captain, who allowed PSG to open the scoring against Manchester City this Wednesday evening in the Champions League semi-final first leg (on RMC Sport 1).

While Paris had been pushing for a few minutes, Angel Di Maria got a corner in the citizen camp within a quarter of an hour of play. The Argentinian took it upon himself to shoot him, and found his captain within six meters, author of ‘a perfect race. With a nice uncrossed head, Marquinhos deceived his compatriot Ederson to give the advantage to the Parisians (1-0, 15th).
It is the Brazilian defender’s fourth goal this season, his third in the Champions League after an achievement against Manchester United, and another against Bayern, even though he was already injured. Wink of history, he was already the one who opened the scoring in the semi-final against Leipzig last year. And that had smiled at the club in the capital.
