In the corridor connecting the lawn of the Parc des Princes to the changing rooms, Saturday just after PSG’s 2-1 victory against Lens, Leonardo cursed referee Jérôme Brisard. The sporting director seemed unhappy with the decisions made in relation to Neymar.
Leonardo went off the hinges. At the end of Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 victory against Racing Club de Lens, this Saturday as part of the 35th day of Ligue 1, the sporting director of the capital club got angry with referee Jérôme Brisard in the corridor leading to the locker rooms at Parc des Princes. The Brazilian seemed annoyed with the treatment of Neymar, who was notably refused a foul in the last minutes of the meeting.
“I know, I do, and you don’t. (…) It’s not the first time it’s happened, every time it’s you (sic)“, we could hear from the mouth of Leonardo, thanks to the images broadcast by Canal +.
Leonardo already annoyed at half-time
The encrypted channel had previously let it be known during the meeting that Leonardo had gone to complain to the referee at half-time. The leader is said to have expressed his dissatisfaction, judging that Neymar was not sufficiently protected on the ground.
At the very end of the match, a block allowed Neymar to get a 3-1 ball. But before entering the Lensoise area, number 10 was mown down by Jonathan Clauss, who came back like a bullet to defend. Jérôme Brisard, however, did not whistle anything, and preferred to let the game continue. This aroused the anger of the player who, replaced in the wake, did not hide his anger on the sidelines.
Jérôme Brisard had already been the target of criticism for his performance during PSG’s 1-0 defeat in the Classic against OM in early September. The one who will be video assistant at the Euro this summer had released 14 yellow cards and excluded five players. After the final whistle, Leonardo then declared after the match: “We choose a referee who has managed only one Europa League match and does not have the experience for a match like that”.
