Marco Verratti, who did not take part in PSG’s 2-1 victory against Nice in Ligue 1, is not yet guaranteed to play the knockout stages of the Champions League against Barça. The Italian international is still suffering from his hip, Mauricio Pochettino told a press conference.
Absent on Saturday for the 2-1 victory against Nice, but also three days earlier against Caen, Marco Verratti is still uncertain for the match in Barcelona. 72 hours before the knockout stages of the Champions League against Barça, scheduled for Tuesday (from 9 p.m. exclusively on RMC Sport 1), the Italian midfielder is still suffering from the hip, affected during the success in Marseille.

“He trained today, but he still has some pain,” admitted Mauricio Pochettino, after the game against the Aiglons. The Argentine coach said he “hopes to have him” at Camp Nou. Without certainty, however. “We will see the evolution. As soon as we get back to the hotel, we will discuss the different strategies and take stock of the physical condition of the players,” also said the coach.
Before this reception of the OGCN, Mauricio Pochettino was just as skeptical about the cure of his centerpiece. “We’ll see in the next few days,” he said.
Against Nice, Draxler took his post
In Marco Verratti’s absence, Leandro Paredes and Idrissa Gueye were teamed up in midfield, and the forward playmaker position went to Julian Draxler. The latter stood out by opening the scoring in the first period.
If the “Owl” were to finally be withdrawn, that would make three holders unavailable for the clash against Barça. For the time being, PSG only know that they have to do without Neymar and Angel Di Maria. The Brazilian was injured for four weeks in the Coupe de France, against Caen. A length of absence that could even make him miss the return match against Barça. This is not a priori the case of the Argentinian, who had to go out on injury in the first minutes of the “Classic” against OM.
