Our prediction: Rafael Nadal beats Novak Djokovic and more than 37.5 games (2.60)
Clash of titans in the semi-final of Roland-Garros! Rafael Nadal is on a mission and is aiming for a 14th success at Porte d’Auteuil which would allow him to return to 29-29 in the confrontations against Novak Djokovic before finding Tsitsipas or Zverev in the final on Sunday. If the duels between the two giants are balanced overall, this is less the case on clay. The Spaniard leads 19-7 on this area and especially 7-1 at Roland Garros. Rafa also remains on five consecutive wins on the Chatrier since his only defeat in 2015 in this Grand Slam tournament against the Serbian. In his last 14 matches, Nole has fallen only once … and it was against the world number 3, on May 16 in the Rome final. In addition, the Mallorcan has just aligned ten victories in a row by conceding only three small sets and has been rather impressive since the start of the fortnight, yielding only one round against Schwartzman in the quarterfinals. For his part, Djokovic was scared against the Italians Musetti (5 sets then abandonment) and Berrettini (4 sets including the last two very tight: 7/6 and 7/5). For all these reasons, I give Nadal an advantage by hoping that we attend a great match with at least 38 games (2.65).
