Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo: the sportiest of the electric cars goes to the station wagon

The estate version of the Taycan has been made official. Based on the Mission e Cross Turismo concept, presented at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, this family model of the sports car was long overdue. The Cross Turismo version gains in livability, but do not forget the essential: 0 to 100 km / h is always carried out in less than 3 seconds and now… with the family. Indeed, the main aesthetic modification is at the rear, with an elongated trunk which brings the cargo volume to 1200 liters. To meet the requirements of this format, Porsche also had to increase the ground clearance by 3 cm. For the rest, including the interior, it’s identical to the version we were able to try last year.

A loan from the e-tron GT quattro

The Taycan Cross Turbo will be available in two versions 4 and 4S and two trim levels, Turbo or Turbo S, to use the names of the classic model. They announce a respective power of 476 and 571 horses for the “entry-level” versions and 680 or 761 horses for the more muscular models. Note that version 4 uses the configuration of the Audi e-tron GT quattro, of the sister brand in the VW group, and not an existing configuration.

As for the battery, Porsche has kept it simple by using only its high-capacity 93.4 kWh model. As a result, the range would be between 388 km and 456 km depending on the level of engine. As on the classic version of the Taycan, this aspect, despite a recharge capacity of 270 kW, may be the weak point of the beast.

The German manufacturer has obviously not ventured into the field of prices, but it is rumored that these would start around 100,000 euros for version 4 and could be close to 200,000 euros in the Turbo S version. , we advise you to negotiate, as a gift, the bike rack specifically developed by Porsche for its Taycan.
