On the other hand, if you talk about Jaipur, then petrol is about 7 rupees more expensive than Delhi. Petrol in Delhi is 83.13 rupees per liter, while in Jaipur 90 rupees 47 paise. According to the website of Indian Oil Corporation, Diesel-Petrol rates in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Noida, Lucknow on December 5 are as follows…

name of the city Petrol (Rs / liter) Diesel (Rs / liter)
city Petrol Rs / liter Diesel Rs / Ltr

Mumbai 89.78 79.93
Kolkata 84.63 76.89
Chennai 86 78.69

Lucknow 83.14 73.66
Patna 85.69 78.57
Chandigarh 80.03 73.06
Jaipur 90.47 82.46

This is the reason for rising prices

The government increased the excise duty on petrol by Rs 10 and on diesel by Rs 13 per liter after the historic fall in crude oil prices in the international market. From November 2014 to January 2016, the central government increased it nine times. Due to this, the common man did not get the benefit of falling crude oil prices.

This is how the rate of petrol and diesel increases

After adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price almost doubles. If the excise duty of the Central Government and the VAT of the State Governments are removed, then the rate of diesel and petrol would be around 27 rupees a liter, but both the Central or the State Government, can not remove the tax at any cost. Because a large part of the revenue comes from here. This money leads to growth.
