INFO RMC SPORT – Hugues Ouvrard will leave OM. An agreement for an amicable rupture was found between the club and the one who had been recruited by Jacques-Henri Eyraud as deputy general manager.
Hugues Ouvrard at OM, it’s over. The former right-hand man of Jacques-Henri Eyraud will leave the club and his post of deputy general manager. The two parties reached an agreement on Friday for an amicable break. The news should satisfy Marseille supporters, who wanted his departure. Laurent Colette will take over internally, before management takes on a new general manager.
Formerly General Manager of Xbox for Microsoft in France, Hugues Ouvrard was appointed last July by Jacques-Henri Eyraud. The latter was then looking for a “Head of business” in order to “structure” the club.
Signatory of the letter to supporters groups
But the recent crisis between the club and the supporters has created a feeling of mistrust towards Hugues Ouvrard. He was notably accused of having signed the letter of formal notice sent by OM to groups of supporters. After the incidents at the Commanderie, he then attempted a demining operation, assuring that he did not want a sanitized Velodrome.
With the departure of Jacques-Henri Eyraud from his position as club president, replaced by Pablo Longoria, the future of Hugues Ouvrard was very threatened. Especially since Thierry Aldebert, OM security man, also close to the former boss, was recently laid off.
