Niu: the electric scooter specialist launches two scooters

Niu is diversifying. After scooters, the Chinese leader in mobility is entering the electric scooters market with two models intended for the European market. The Niu Kick Scooter and its Pro version want to represent an alternative to the Xiaomi scooters which have monopolized sales for several years.

The two models are absolutely identical from an aesthetic point of view. What makes them different is their engine as well as their battery. Indeed, the Pro version is equipped with a 350 W motor and a 486 kWh accumulator (50 km of autonomy), whereas the classic version is satisfied with a 300 W motor and a battery of 365 Wh (40 km of autonomy).
Unlike Xiaomi’s entry-level models, the more affordable Niu will have the same top speed of 25 km / h as its top-of-the-range counterpart.

After scooters, electric bikes?

The technical sheet of these Niu Kick Scooters also contains some good surprises such as the presence of rubber tires (9.5 x 2.5 inches), that of a large central plate or even the IP54 certification for water resistance.
Finally, the E-Save mode refers to the regenerative braking functionality that extends the theoretical autonomy of Niu scooters.

On the sidelines of the launch of its scooters, Niu also unveiled four electric bikes, but these are reserved for the Chinese market, for the moment. This is not the case with the Niu Kick Scooters which will be sold at 599 euros and 699 euros from June.
