Alexis Claude-Maurice lit up the OGC Nice match against Brest this Sunday with three assists. His trainer went there with his compliments at a press conference.
Three assists in a single match, it had never happened to Alexis Claude-Maurice, the midfielder of OGC Nice. “I’m proud of my match, three assists, it’s not nothing,” he admitted at a press conference after the victory against Brest (3-2), stressing that it was without doubts his best game among professionals.
His third offering, to Hassane Kamara, was particularly spectacular. Claude-Maurice played the Brest defense for long seconds before crossing back for his teammate. “I saw that there was space, I know my qualities and I knew that I could make the difference,” he said.
Euro objective with the Hopes
Even if he missed a few chances at the start of the match, Claude-Maurice allowed the Nice to win despite a numerical inferiority against Brest. “He was huge, put forward his coach Adrian Ursea. He is full of confidence, he takes risks. Honestly, as a spectator, I would pay my ticket to go see players like that.”
The former Lorient now has the goal of playing Euro 2021 with the French hopefuls team this summer. He was present during the group stage in March and scored points at the end of the season. “I think he himself doesn’t know his limits yet,” Ursea warned, heralding a bright future for the 22-year-old.
