Due to ongoing lockdown across the country, the process of postponement of examinations continues. In this sequence, the University Grand Commission National Eligibility Test 2020 (UGC NET 2020) to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) has also been postponed. After this, this examination to be held in June will no longer be held. In this regard, Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said during the live talk webinar that this test proposed in June will not be held on the scheduled schedule. The revised dates for the exam will be announced soon.
Application date extended
The National Eligibility Test (NET), to be held from 15 to 20 June, has been canceled due to the increasing prevalence of coronavirus. In view of the situation created in patriotism due to infection, the Union Minister said that this examination will also be postponed keeping the health of students as a priority. Along with this, NTA has currently extended the application deadline for UGC NET and CSIR NET.
JEE Main and NEET schedule released
More than 10 lakh candidates had applied to the UGC NET held in December 2019, out of which only 7.39 lakh attended it. Of the candidates appearing in the examination, 60147 candidates qualified for Assistant Professor, while 5092 passed the examination for JRF. Apart from this, the Education Minister also informed that JEE Main will be held from 18 to 23 July and NEET will be held on 26 July.
