On January 2, 2016 died Michel Delpech, carried away at 69 years after a long fight against cancer. Since then, his widow Geneviève has found herself alone at home. But she claims to have received from beyond the authorization of her late husband to find love in the arms of another man.
Long questioned by the magazine France Sunday for the 5 years of the artist’s death, Geneviève Delpech made touching confidences. In particular on her status as a widow, she who says she has “never lived alone“before.”So I had to tame the loneliness, which was not the most difficult. On the other hand, I never managed to cope with his absence (…) Fortunately, I am surrounded by people, I have my children, wonderful friends, I write books … I have become more active“, she explained. Geneviève, who had married Michel Delpech in 1985, however affirms that she still has from time to time signs and messages from her late husband. She who calls herself a medium, and does not care much believe it or not, says: “He addresses words to me, always in the middle of the night, and in my left ear, by which he warns of a possible danger (…) And every time I hear his voice, it’s sweet and confusing at the same time.
Geneviève Delpech is certainly still in need of her husband, she does not close the door to a new story even if she has the greatest difficulty in considering it. “I feel a little more available today, but I can’t do it. It’s as if I had received Michel’s agreement, but at the same time, it’s still too hard even to contemplate. We must admit that Michel had set the bar very high…“, she said.”He is alive in me“, she added. Difficult then to feel comfortable with another man … From her marriage to the interpreter of When I was a singer, Geneviève Delpech had a son named Emmanuel. But the artist’s widow is also the mother of Pauline and Pierre-Emmanuel, born from another story. As for Michel Delpech, he had also had Garance and Barthélémy, from his first marriage with Chantal Simon.
