We had the opportunity to virtually board the EQS, the future electric sedan of the German brand.
Impossible to have a real feeling in these particular conditions, but the trip of a few minutes allowed us to have a glimpse of the Hyperscreen, the huge screen that illuminates the cabin of the EQS.
The EQS will be Mercedes’ second foray into the 100% electric vehicle segment, after the EQC, an SUV with mixed results. To transform the test, the German manufacturer has chosen to go on its favorite terrain, the luxury sedan. Thus, the EQS could be considered the electric version of the S-class, the icon of the brand.
770 km of autonomy (WLTP)
The objective for Mercedes is also to set new standards and to regain control of Tesla, which dominates this market with its Model S and Model 3. As a result, the EQS will have a very ambitious technical sheet with a battery – engine pair that is already said to be very efficient. Indeed, the two engines (385 kW) with a torque of 855 Nm will work together with a 107.8 kWh accumulator to achieve a record 770 km of autonomy.
While waiting for a full report of the EQS which will be officially unveiled on April 15, here is already a glimpse of its interior and the enormous Hyperscreen.
