OGC Nice confirmed this Tuesday evening the signing of Justin Kluivert, in the form of a loan with option to buy. The 22-year-old Netherlands international arrives from AS Roma, where José Mourinho was not counting on him.
As announced in recent days by RMC Sport, Justin Kluivert will do well this season with OGC Nice. At 22, the Dutch international will discover Ligue 1, where his father Patrick, legend of Batavian football, had ended his career with LOSC, during the 2007-2008 season.
OGC Nice has confirmed the signing of the attacking midfielder in the form of a loan with option to buy. Kluivert arrives from AS Roma, where he transferred in the summer of 2018 after launching his career with Ajax Amsterdam, his training club.
Need to revive
Within the Louve, who had spent 17 million euros for him, Justin Kluivert has failed to establish himself as an indisputable holder. José Mourinho’s arrival on the bench this summer even pushed him to the start, while the Portuguese technician did not summon him for the pre-season internship. Last season, Kluivert wore the colors of RB Leipzig, on loan, for four goals scored and one assist in 29 games played in all competitions.
This summer, Justin Kluivert was left at the disposal of the Hopes for the Euro, where the Netherlands failed at the semi-finals stage. In Nice, it will be led by Christophe Galtier, recent champion of France with the LOSC but who joined the Aiglons this summer for a new challenge. The club driven by Ineos has already paid 15 million for Dutch winger Calvin Stengs, another promise from AZ Alkmaar. The call option for Jean-Clair Todibo was also exercised and Melvin Bard was debauched from OL.
