Free from any contract since his departure from Swansea at the end of June, André Ayew will engage with Al-Sadd. The Qatari club announced the imminent signing of the Ghanaian, who will join the team coached by Xavi and where Santi Cazorla plays.
At 31, André Ayew will begin his golden pre-retirement. After leaving Swansea at the end of June, where his contract ended, the former Olympique de Marseille player will sign with the Qatari club of Al-Sadd. Based in Doha, the team led by Xavi announced the news in a tweet published overnight Wednesday through Thursday.

The Ghanaian is currently in Doha to undergo the medical examination before the officialization of his transfer. At Al-Sadd, Ayew will play alongside Santi Cazorla, the former Arsenal player. He will discover a new championship after several seasons spent across the Channel.
Ayew in her father’s footsteps
Ayew joined Swansea in 2016 from Marseille and played 141 games there in all competitions, with 47 goals scored and 19 assists distributed. Since his return from loan from Fenerbahçe two seasons ago, the Ghanaian has been playing in the Championship, the English second division.
By joining a Persian Gulf club, Ayew follows in the footsteps of his father Abedi Pelé. The latter had ended his career at Al-Ain, club of the United Arab Emirates. Ayew could therefore do the same in Qatar. Unless he decides to try one last adventure in Europe after his time at Al-Sadd.
