Marquinhos was very close to equalizing for PSG on Tuesday night in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Manchester City. The Brazilian captain bounced the ball off the crossbar after the first quarter of an hour.
Marquinhos was almost decisive once again. Scorer against Bayern Munich, but also in the semi-final first leg against Manchester City, the Brazilian captain was very close to finding the loophole on Tuesday night for the second leg against the English club. A goal that would have allowed the club of the capital to equalize and revive the whole of the double confrontation.

Lack of success
In the 16th minute, with Manchester City already leading 1-0 thanks to a goal from Riyad Mahrez in the 11th, Angel Di Maria crossed from the left wing. Very close to the goal line and just in front of Ederson at the far post, Marquinhos appeared to jump higher than everyone else. He was able to hit the ball with his head. But the leather, which seemed to be spinning towards the opposite skylight, went to die on top of the crossbar.
Success fled PSG in the first period. Before having to chase after the score, Mauricio Pochettino’s men initially thought they would get a penalty for a hand from Oleksandr Zinchenko. But the referee of the meeting had finally reconsidered, rightly after seeing the images on the replays offered by the video referee assistance (VAR).
