Riyad Mahrez opened the scoring and cooled PSG, in a very unfavorable waiver at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City after this opener.
The task has become seriously complicated for Paris Saint-Germain. It was already very difficult for the players of Mauricio Pochettino, after the defeat (2-1) in the first leg, but the opening of the score conceded at the start of the match at the Etihad Stadium almost puts an end to any hope of qualification. The Parisians had nevertheless made an excellent start to the match in this very open meeting, despite the playing conditions made difficult by the deluge of hail that covered the pitch before kick-off.

Paris must score three goals
The Parisians were unfortunately trapped on a recovery from the opposing goalkeeper, perfectly exploited by Zinchenko, who left behind the Parisians on the edge of offside. The Ukrainian took advantage of the reorganization of the Parisian defense to center back towards Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian’s strike was deflected by Florenzi, but Mahrez was quicker than Kimpembe to deceive Keylor Navas. Paris must score three goals now to hope to qualify for the Champions League final.
Manchester City dreams of their very first C1 final, 51 years after winning their only European final, in the 1970 Cup Winners’ Cup (former C2), against Polish club Gornik Zabrze (2-1). If the “Sky Blues” aim for the first Champions League final in their history, Paris, in the event of a victory by two goals, or even one if the Parisians score at least three goals, would open the door to a second consecutive final, after that lost last August against Bayern Munich (1-0).
