As reported by The Athletic, Sergio Agüero made several gifts to Manchester City employees when leaving the club, and in particular offered a luxury watch to each member of the staff.
The story was long, it was beautiful, and the player wanted to end it with a classy gesture. Ten years after his arrival at the Skyblues, Sergio Agüero played his very last match with Manchester City last week, to join FC Barcelona. But before his departure, the Argentine striker (33) spoiled the employees of the English club.
As reported by The Athletic, the “Kun” offered a luxury watch to each member of the staff, more than 60 people. Some received a Hublot at around 9,000 euros each, others a TAG Heuer at 1,200 euros. With the same inscription engraved on the back: “Gracias! Kun Agüero”. A nice way to say thank you.
A steward won his Range Rover
But that’s not all. The Argentinian also held an internal raffle to win a Range Rover he had recently purchased. It was a steward of the first team who won the jackpot. In addition, the British press reports that Agüero left a very good sum in cash in the common fund shared by employees at the end of the season.
In ten years with the Citizens, Agüero has played 390 official games, for 260 goals scored, which makes him – and by far – the best director in the history of the club. After a 2020-2021 season marked by a new Premier League title, but also many physical glitches, the striker has chosen to join his compatriot Lionel Messi at Barça, where he signed a contract until 2023.
