While the first generation MacBook Air equipped with an M1 SoC retained the design of the Intel models, Apple is said to be preparing a redesign of its ultraportable chassis for the next generation, according to images obtained by Jon Prosser, serial leaker, which has a fairly honest history of revealing reliability.
As for the iMac M1, which were introduced during Apple’s first keynote of the year 2021, the future MacBook Air – or MacBook for short – could adopt a similar appearance, or in any case inspired by that of the iPad Pro, namely sharper, vertical edges, and a flat bottom. The screen, which would still not be edge to edge, would be surrounded by a fairly thin and white frame. The keyboard, aesthetically revised, would also be white.

On each side of the case, we would find a USB-C port, the presence of a MagSafe power port is not confirmed by the photos and renderings presented by Jon Prosser. On the other hand, it is clearly shown that these MacBooks would be available in several colored finishes.
After the iMac M1, Apple could therefore continue to unify the design of its Macs, and opt for more colors, at least for its consumer models.
