Ligue 1: C8 will broadcast in clear the last match of OM, in Metz

A week after Marseille-Angers, the OM match in Metz during the 38th and final day of Ligue 1 will also be broadcast unencrypted on C8 on May 23, as announced by the Canal group and the LFP in a press release. .

OM supporters will be able to enjoy a double dose of unencrypted matches to end the Ligue 1 season. After Marseille-Angers on May 16 (Matchday 37), Metz-Marseille (Matchday 38) will be broadcast on C8 on May 23. The Canal group and the LFP announced the news in a press release on Tuesday.

Sixth in Ligue 1 tied on points with Lens (fifth), OM can still win a European qualification during these last three days of Ligue 1. The Marseillais should also be wary of Rennes, seventh with two points behind the fifth place.

For its part, the Canal group will be able to measure a second time the audience of a match in clear before returning the TV rights of the championship to the LFP, apart from the lot 3, while awaiting the result of the negotiations for the period 2021- 2024.

Not satisfied with the ratings of the matches in the championship, with the exception of the best posters, Canal + would not want to broadcast the entirety of Ligue 1 next season according to L’Équipe. The encrypted channel would like to position itself only on the best matches.
