Led 0-2, Antwerp wins against Genk (3-2)

Author of a double, Paul Onuachu is at 29 goals this season. Didier Lamkel Zé (67th), Dieumerci Mbokani (90th) and Dylan Batubinsika (90th + 2) offered the second place in the standings to Antwerp (60 points). Genk remains 3rd (56 points) with one point ahead of Anderlecht, who travel to Sint-Truiden on Sunday. Eupen won the first advanced meeting against Charleroi (2-3). This success with a hat-trick from Smail Prevljak allowed the Pandas (43 points, 12th) to overtake the Zebras in the standings (13th, 42 points). Despite the absence of Junya Ito, Genk took possession of the ball on his own and an attempt from Bryan Heynen was deflected by Ritchie De Laet (3rd). Angelo Preciado, who replaced Ito, also stood out (5th) and Theo Bongonda shot the imposing Abdoulaye Seck (6th). Antwerp suffered and Ortwin De Wolf took out in quick succession a header from Onuachu and a rebound from Preciado (15th). De Wolf was less varnished when he did not pick up a sendoff from Preciado and the ball landed in the feet of Onuachu (22nd, 0-1).

Genk still had several chances but on a ball dropped by De Wolf on a powerful shot from Kristian Thorstvedt, Bongonda did not frame his shot (28th). As for the Geneva captain, Heynen, he inherited a yellow card and will be suspended for the first game of the playoffs.

After the break, Antwerp returned to the pitch all revitalized and finally managed to join his two attackers. Mbokani almost equalized but Maarten Vandevoordt was not surprised (55th). While Genk was not doing well, Onuachu doubled the penalty gap for a foul committed on him by De Wolf (64th, 0-2).

The match was not over because Lamkel Zé saw his goal granted by the VAR because the Cameroonian striker had been signaled in an offside position while Jhon Lucumi held him well in play (67th, 1-2).

The second half was to the advantage of the Antwerp and Mbokani foiled Carlos Cuesta to equalize on a pass from Lior Refaelov (90th; 2-2). The Israeli repeated the blow by putting the ball on the head of Batubinsika, who completed the turnaround (90th + 2, 3-2).
