During the global epidemic of corona virus, the Board of Control for Cricket in India successfully organized tournaments like the Indian Premier League. Board President Saurabh Ganguly and other officials are being congratulated for this. But in the meantime a new controversy has arisen with the tweet of Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri.
Shastri’s tweet has again reinforced that all is not well between him and Board President Saurabh Ganguly.
In the final of the 13th edition of the IPL, Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals to capture the trophy for the fifth time. Mumbai team was playing their sixth final, while Delhi reached the title match for the first time. Mumbai became the second team after Chennai to win the IPL trophy for the second time in a row.
The Delhi team won the toss and scored 156 for seven wickets. The team had a poor start and lost three wickets on a score of 22. After this, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer got the team out of trouble and reached the challenging score. Iyer scored an unbeaten 65 runs. Pant contributed 56 runs.
In response, Mumbai achieved the target in the 19th over. Captain Rohit Sharma scored 68 runs. Ishaan Kishan scored 33 not out.
After the success of the IPL, the cricket world congratulated the BCCI on the successful conduct of the IPL in the UAE during this difficult time. Ravi Shastri tweeted Bhai but surprisingly, there was no name of Board President Saurabh Ganguly in it.
Shastri, in his tweet, congratulated BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel, BCCI Interim CEO Hemang Amin as well as Medical Staff B but did not write Ganguly’s name. Shastri tweeted- ‘Jai Shah, Brijesh Patel, Hemang Amin and BCCI medical staff deserve congratulations for accomplishing this possible task and dream.’
The relationship between Ravi Shastri and Saurabh Ganguly is nothing new. In 2016, when the Cricket Advisory Committee appointed Anil Kumble as the coach of the Indian team, the bitterness of relations also came to light. Apart from Ganguly, VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar were included in this committee.
Shastri accused Saurabh Ganguly after he failed to become a coach. In response, Ganguly said that no single member can decide this.
