Star spinner Harbhajan Singh has announced that his contract with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has now expired. He has made it clear that he will not be part of the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021.
Harbhajan, 40, thanked the fans and franchisees for announcing this on Twitter on Wednesday. Harbhajan was a part of Chennai Super Kings for three seasons. Harbhajan tweeted, ‘My contract with Chennai is ending. It was a great experience playing for this team. Many good memories and some very good friends that I will remember well in the years to come … Thanks @ChennaiIPL, management staff and fans and a fantastic two years … All the best. ‘
Harbhajan became part of the Chennai Super Kings headed by Mahendra Singh Dhoni for Rs 2 crore in 2018. He played a key role in the team’s final in 2019. He took 16 wickets in 11 matches that year. Harbhajan did not play in the IPL in the UAE in 2020 for personal reasons.
Chennai is one of the most successful franchises of IPL. The team has won the title three times. However, the previous season did not go well for her and she was ranked seventh. This was the first time the team could not make it to the playoffs. After the team’s performance last year, the management is considering adding many new faces this time. This time there will be a mini auction in February.
