Mumbai, March 8: After a long wait, the time has come for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. IPL 2021 is starting a day later i.e. from tomorrow. In the first match of this season, last year’s winner Mumbai Indians face Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match between the two teams will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The captains of both the teams will come to the ground for the toss at seven in the evening, while the live broadcast of the match will be done after half an hour i.e. 7.30 pm.

Caribbean all-rounder Kirron Pollard’s selection in the playing eleven is confirmed. He has so far played 164 matches in this prestigious tournament of the country, scoring 3023 runs in 147 innings at an average of 29.9. He has 15 half-centuries registered in the IPL. Apart from this, he has also performed well in bowling. Pollard has taken 60 wickets in 92 innings of IPL. His best bowling performance in this tournament is 44 for four, spending 44 runs.
Kiwi fast bowler Trent Boult, who played a key role in Mumbai’s win in IPL 2020, is also confirmed to play in the inaugural match. Bolt has played 63 matches in the IPL, taking 63 wickets in 48 innings at an average of 25.0. His best bowling performance in IPL is four wickets, spending 18 runs.

African star wicketkeeper player Quinton de Kock is currently busy in the ongoing domestic ODI and T20I series with Pakistan. In such a situation, Chris Lynn can start the innings for Mumbai in the opening matches of IPL instead of D Cock. Lynn has played 12 matches in the IPL, scoring 1280 runs in 41 innings with an average of 33.7. He has 10 half-centuries registered in the IPL.
Australia’s fast bowler Nathan Culter-Nile can get a place in the team as the fourth foreign player in the Mumbai team. Nile has performed brilliantly in the IPL.
