Chennai : The third-ranked Delhi Capitals will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here on Sunday in the 20th match of the 14th season of the IPL. Delhi’s team will enter this match by winning two consecutive matches against Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians, while Hyderabad have registered their first win by defeating Punjab in their last match. The team is currently at number six. DC is a winning contender due to its all-round performance. Opener Shikhar Dhawan is at the top of the list of batsmen scoring runs and his batting in the Orange Cap race looked solid. Australian batsman Steve Smith also looked good in the last match against Mumbai Indians (MI). His bowling has also been good with the presence of Kagiso Rabada and Ravichandran Ashwin in bowling. However, Madhya Pradesh’s young fast bowler Avesh Khan is the top wicket-taker bowler in the team. He has eight wickets this season. Leg-spinner Amit Mishra has also returned to the Delhi team, who took four wickets against Mumbai Indians. Mishra, who was returning after an injury, was elected man of the match for his bowling performance.
Hyderabad, however, won the last match after starting with three defeats due to the failure of their middle order, which saw the return of Kane Williamson. On the spin-friendly Chennai wicket and unlike the likes of Mishra and Ashwin, he will have an important role in the batting. If Hyderabad has to make a big score, then any of its batsmen will have to stick to the end.
