Insight Browser, a new iOS web browser compatible with extensions

A new web browser for iOS, Insight Browser, has just appeared alongside many others on the App Store. But to stand out from the many existing solutions, Insight Browser has gone above and beyond. This web browser which knows how to block trackers and advertisements, natively embeds several extensions and even allows to install others manually.

Insight Browser can thus detect fake reviews and compare prices on Amazon thanks to the integration of CamelCamelCamel and ReviewMeta, block advertisements of all types, or even activate Picture-in-Picture mode on the mobile Web version of YouTube. Some extensions are intended for use on US sites, including the one using ReviewMeta to identify fake reviews on Amazon, the user will have to go to the browser options to edit some settings related to the extensions. Besides, the app has a color inversion option that will allow you to apply a dark theme to any compatible website.

Extensions created using scripts

Because in addition to the extensions installed natively, it is quite possible to create others via a script editor quite similar to what the Apple Shortcuts application offers. The user, who must nevertheless have some knowledge in the matter, can thus specify conditions and actions to be carried out when they are met. And the possibilities are endless since it is also possible to inject JavaScript scripts from a URL.

For the moment, the download of Insight Browser is free, its developers explaining that they are in the process of refining the functions integrated into their application. Ultimately, they hope to be able to remunerate themselves by offering a paid Pro version integrating premium features to allow users to support them.
