Ahmedabad, March 3: Indian Test team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane said on Tuesday that he feels that the pitch of the fourth test will take a turn like the pitch of the second and third Test. The four-match Test series between India and England is going on. India has taken a 2–1 lead by winning the second and third matches of this series. The fourth Test will be played from March 4 at the Narendra Modi Stadium here. The third Test was also played on the same ground, in which the spinners took 28 wickets out of 30. India won this match by 10 wickets.
Both teams are gearing up for the final match and both feel that the pitch of the fourth Test will also take a much higher turn. Also read: Ind vs Eng: These 2 Indian players joined the team, T20 series is going to start from March 12
Rahane said at a press conference here, “I think the wicket of the fourth test is very similar to the wicket of the third test. This wicket looks like the second test (Chennai Test).
The situation may not be as difficult in the third Test, because the pink ball test played last week ended within two days but now the fourth test match will be with red ball.
Rahane said, the pink ball was coming much faster on the wicket than the red ball. This is the adjustment, but as I said, the wicket of the fourth test will be very much like the wicket of the second and third test.
Although Rohit Sharma has performed well, but others have struggled to get a big score. Batsmen like Rahane and captain Virat Kohli have given some good hints by making a half-century.
Rahane blamed the poor performance in the first innings of the third Test for this.
Rahane said, you know that we have not played a lot of matches at home in the last 2-3 years. I think we last played a Test (against a top team) against South Africa in 2019. When we practiced, we decided we would focus on playing spin bowling.
