Ind Vs Eng 2nd Test Match 2021: Ravichandran Ashwin has equaled New Zealand’s great all-rounder Sir Richard Headley in terms of taking five wickets in a single Test and playing innings of 50 runs or more. Ashwin took five wickets for 43 runs on the second day of the second Test match with England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, and after batting, he scored a brilliant half-century.
This is the sixth time Ashwin has scored 50 or more runs apart from taking five wickets in a single Test. Sir Headley, considered one of the world’s greatest all-rounders, also did this feat six times during his illustrious career. The list is headed by former England captain and all-rounder Ian Botham. Botham has done this feat 11 times. Among the current players, Bangladesh’s all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has done this feat on 9 occasions so far.

After this, Headley and Ashwin are named. In this order, the fifth order is ranked by the great West Indian fast bowler Malcolm Marshall. Marshall has done this feat five times. Three players are in sixth place in this list. India’s star all-rounder Kapil Dev, New Zealand all-rounder Chris Cairns and India’s own Ravindra Jadeja have scored five or more wickets in the same Test on four occasions in their career, besides scoring 50 or more runs.
