I felt better captain because everyone contributed: Ajinkya Rahane

Brisbon
India’s acting captain Ajinkya Rahane, who won India’s 2–1 Test series on Australian soil, has said that he is not thinking about captaincy in the series against England.

After the first Test match played in Adelaide, Virat Kohli returned home for the birth of his first child. After this Rahane captained the team and gave a historic win. After Rahane captained the side in the remaining three matches amid adversity, these reports combined that Kohli should be given the command of the Test in place of Kohli. Rahane however looked quite polite on this.

Credit to every player
After the match, Rahane said, ‘I am very emotional. I do not know how it happened and how to describe this victory. But every player gets its credit. After Adelaide everyone contributed. This is not about me. It is a matter of the team. I felt good captain because everyone contributed so I don’t value myself. It is a matter of the team. Everyone contributed. For us it is a matter of showing our ability on the field and having a sense of rivalry. I always believe in it.
