Honda sold 1,18,004 units of motorcycles last month. With this, the CB Shine became the third best selling motorcycle in the country last month.
The company said the 125cc motorcycle is the highest monthly sales ever. During the same period last year, Japanese two-wheeler manufacturers sold only 88,893 units of the bike. Annual sales also grew by 33%.
Currently, Honda Shine comes in two different variants, the drum and the disc. The ex-showroom prices are Rs 69,415 and Rs 74,115 respectively.
It is powered by a 124 cc, single-cylinder four-stroke engine. This engine produces a maximum power of 10.7 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 11 Nm of torque at 6.000 rpm. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox.
The suspension is handled by telescopic forks at the front and a hydraulic type rear setup at the rear. The front and rear are fitted with 130 mm drum brakes for safety. A model with 240 mm disc brakes at the front is also available as an option.
Sales of the CB Shine are one of the main reasons why Honda came second in the market in September 2020 behind Hero MotoCorp. The two-wheeler segment of Japanese automakers now has a market share of 27.08%.
Honda has recently launched the Hynes CB 350 in India. Honda expects sales to pick up in the coming months.
The Hyundai CB350 is Honda’s entry into the sub – 400cc modern classic segment, which includes the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Benelli Imperiale 400 and Java.
The bike is powered by a 348.36 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. Hynes will be available in two variants, DLX and DLX Pro. The ex-showroom prices range from Rs 1.85 lakh to Rs 1.90 lakh respectively.
