Chandigarh, Nov 18 (PTI) Various farmers’ organizations in Punjab on Wednesday condemned the ‘stubborn’ attitude of the BJP-led central government and said that the Center would first start operating goods trains, after which they would consider allowing passenger trains to run. Talking to the media here, the farmer leaders insisted that their protest against the new agricultural laws would continue. Farmer leader Ruldu Singh said, “The Center has taken a hardline stand against the farmers, traders and workers of Punjab and here and we condemn this attitude of the Central Government.”

Chandigarh, Nov 18 (PTI) Various farmers’ organizations in Punjab on Wednesday condemned the ‘stubborn’ attitude of the BJP-led central government and said that the Center would first start operating goods trains, after which they would consider allowing passenger trains to run. Talking to the media here, the farmer leaders insisted that their protest against the new agricultural laws would continue. Farmer leader Ruldu Singh said, “The Center has taken a firm stand against the farmers, businessmen and workers of Punjab and here and we condemn the central government’s stand.” He said that the movement of goods trains in the state was stopped. It’s been about a month. Singh, leader of the Punjab Kisan Union, said, “The central government should start operating the goods trains first and after that we will decide on an emergency meeting on the operation of passenger trains.” He insisted, “If the operation of the central goods trains If we start, we will think about passenger trains. ”It is noteworthy that the Railways have refused to restore the operations of goods trains in Punjab. Railways say that either it will operate both the goods train and the passenger train or it will not operate any. The farmers held this meeting several days after the meeting in Delhi with Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Som Prakash. Singh said that farmers, businessmen and workers have been badly affected due to the stubborn attitude of the Center. He further said that representatives of about 30 farmer organizations are ready to go by tractor to protest Delhi against agricultural laws on 26 and 27 November. He told, “Millions of farmers are ready to go to Delhi by tractor. On not allowing protests in Delhi due to the Corona virus epidemic, he said it was an ‘excuse’. Singh said, “Whether they allow it or not, we are all set to go to Delhi.” It is noteworthy that the ‘Delhi Chalo’ demonstration called for a forum of 200 farmers’ organizations across the country. All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee has done it. In response to another question, he said that farmers are protesting in front of the house of BJP leaders in the state. He was asked if he would also surround BJP President JP Nadda if he comes to Punjab? To this Singh said that he would definitely do so. It is noteworthy that Nadda will digitally inaugurate the party office of 10 districts of Punjab on 19 November. After this, a three-day visit to Punjab is proposed to review the party’s preparedness in view of the 2022 assembly elections.
