Delhi High Court gave instructions to two TV channels, said- stay away from irresponsible reporting and defamation content

The Delhi High Court has issued notices to news channels Republic TV and Times Now. The court sent this notice while hearing the petition of the producers, in which both these news channels are alleged to have made irresponsible and abusive reporting.

Also, the court has directed Republic TV and Times Now to stay away from irresponsible, abusive, or defamatory reporting and content.

Justice Rajiv Shakdhar also asked ‘ARG Outlier Media Asianet Pvt Ltd’ and ‘Bennett Coleman Group’ to ensure that no defamatory content is shared on social media forums or their channels.

The counsel for the news channels assured the court that he would abide by the program code completely. The petition has been filed by four Bollywood industry associations and 34 major producers.

The petition included allegedly irresponsible and derogatory remarks against Bollywood to Republic TV, its editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami and journalist Pradeep Bhandari, Times Now, its editor-in-chief Rahul Shivshankar and group editor Navika Kumar, and unknown defendants, as well as social media forums Instructions have been requested to stop doing or publish.

The High Court will further hear the matter on 14 December. Let me tell you that in the case of the death of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, many filmmakers accused Republic TV and Times Now of irresponsible reporting.

After which he filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against both these news channels. Those who filed the petition include Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Karan Johar, among many film personalities.
