China became soft due to India’s strictness, Jinping said in SCO – will resolve the dispute by negotiation

China’s tensions are beginning to soften due to India’s tough stand amidst the ongoing tension in Ladakh (India China Standoff). In a meeting of the heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO Summit) on Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that SCO countries should resolve their mutual disputes and differences through dialogue and consultation. In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Jinping said that member countries should come forward to further the SCO and deepen solidarity, cooperation.

PM Modi and Jinping met for the first time amid border dispute
This was the first time that PM Modi and Xi Jinping attended a meeting after the Indo-China border dispute started in Ladakh from May. However, there was no other interaction between the two countries other than this meeting. In order to reduce tension in Ladakh, 8 rounds of military level talks have been held between the forces of India and China. However, so far these meetings have not seen any impact on the ground.

Jinping said on Corona
Jinping said at the SCO meeting that we should deepen solidarity and mutual trust, and resolve disputes and differences through dialogue and consultation, so as to strengthen the political foundation for SCO development. Referring to the corona virus epidemic, Jinping said that the epidemic has changed the international landscape.

Jinping called for cooperation
Jinping warned about the future, saying that due to the corona epidemic, the world is entering an era of turbulence and change. He said that the international community is now facing choices between majoritarianism and unilateralism, openness and seclusion. People all over the world are growing up for a better life. We will win only by moving towards peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefit.

PM Modi targeted the signal in gestures
While addressing this meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted China in gestures over the border dispute. Without naming China, he said that it is important that SCO member countries respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. India has strong cultural and historical ties with SCO countries. India believes that to enhance connectivity, it is important that we move forward, respecting each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
