Design office in the design of electronic radiocommunications circuits and systems, Samea innovation is launching its first products on its own. The SME of Pléneuf-Val André has just presented the Sensoriis range at CES, invited to the French Pavilion by FrenchTech and Business France.
“The design office activity leads me to support companies that want to integrate a dimension of connectivity into their projects or get started in IoT. Their problems are often recurring. With these solutions, the idea is to meet their needs by giving them access to efficient and optimized material bricks.“, explains Sébastien Amiot, the manager of Samea innovation.
Stand out from the existing
Samea innovation has notably developed a connected multifunction and multi-protocol sensor. It includes a dozen functions in the same box: humidity, temperature, but also sensor of presence, gas, air quality or ambient light. “And allows you to operate certain equipment such as openings, lighting or heating “, according to the company.
Samea intends to set itself apart from existing products with a multi-protocol product integrating antennas for LoRa, 4G / 5G, Bluetooth … “The deployment of communication protocols is not the same everywhere in the world. This opens up markets for us internationally, but also for our customers’ applications.“The development of the sensor was finalized in the fall of 2020.”This product, the first in the Sensoriis range, is being delivered to various customers. Today, they are mainly French, but we see requests coming from the international
Other current products
With this first sensor, Samea innovation targets the smart home and tertiary smart building markets. But the range is intended to be versatile and scalable. “We are working on other functionalities to address the industrial or agrifood markets“The range will be manufactured in Lannion in the Côtes d’Armor at Euro-Process. Supported by a recently reinforced team of eight people, including six engineers, Samea innovation is continuing its R&D efforts.
The SME is working on a wifi booster targeting in particular outdoor amplification needs and a geolocation tracker. “The objective is to target applications requiring ultra precise localization, at 1 meter or less, such as security, surveillance.“This tracker is intended to operate in areas with little or no networks. To achieve this, Samea innovation also relies on the expertise of the European Space Agency, of which it joined the Esa Bic Nord incubator in fall 2019
