Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), part of the BJP alliance in Chandigarh, Dec 1 (language), suggested on Tuesday that the central government should give written assurance to the farmers who are demonstrating that the minimum support price (MSP) will continue. The remarks by JJP chief and former MP Ajay Chautala came on the same day that Independent MLA from Dadri Vidhan Sabha constituency Sombir Sangwan on Tuesday withdrew his support of the BJP-JJP government of Haryana as “anti-farmer”. A day earlier, Sangwan resigned as the chairman of the Haryana Livestock Development Board, supporting farmers protesting on the Delhi border against three agricultural laws of the central government. Farmers’ organizations allege that the new agricultural laws of the Center will end the MSP system. Chautala said in Sirsa, “When the Union Agriculture Minister (Narendra Singh Tomar) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are constantly saying that the MSP will continue, what is the objection in adding that line (in law)?” “While the Center has said that the MSP system will continue, the protesting farmers want” written assurance “about it. Many are suggesting an amendment to the law to include assurances about this. “Chautala said,” The Center has called farmers for talks and we want a solution to this at the earliest Set out. We have asked the people in the government to find a solution to the problems of the farmers. “Appealing to the solution soon, he said,” The farmers are upset, they are sitting on the road …. The government is also concerned about this. ” In response to a question, Chautala said that most of the crops of Haryana are purchased at MSP. Ajay Singh Chautla’s son Dushyant Chautla is the Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana. Earlier, the JJP accused the opposition parties of tricking the farmers over agricultural laws and Dushyant Chautla claimed that he would resign from his post if there was an attempt to abolish the MSP. Meanwhile, Independent MLA Sangwan said, “I have withdrawn my support from this anti-farmer government.” Instead of sympathizing with the farmers, this government is using all measures like water splashes, tear gas shells to stop them. I cannot continue my support for such a government. “It is noteworthy that BJP has 40 MLAs in the 90-member Haryana Assembly while its ally JJP has 10 MLAs. In addition, the opposition Congress has 31 members.
